CCGS Nominated for Australian Education Awards
Central Coast Grammar School is honoured to be named an Excellence Award nominee in two categories at the prestigious 2025 Australian Education Awards. The school has been recognised in the Primary School of the Year (Non-Government) category and for Best Co-Curricular Program for its Cambodia Service Program.
These national accolades are a powerful affirmation of our mission to nurture good people with strong character and the wisdom to choose and act well in the world.
The nomination for Primary School of the Year reflects a strategic commitment to intentional, student-centred education. Our Junior School blends evidence-based teaching with nature-immersed environments, empowering every student to be known, supported, and challenged to become their best self.
Head of Junior School, Rita Boys-Smith said that being nominated for an Australian Educator Award is a tremendous honour and a powerful affirmation of the dedication, expertise, and passion of Junior School staff.
“I am incredibly proud of our strong culture of high expectations, where both students and teachers are continually challenged and supported to strive for excellence.
“This recognition reflects the impact of our innovative team-teaching model, our rigorous and consistent professional learning program, and our ongoing commitment to delivering high quality teaching and learning experiences.
“Throughout 2024 our students have achieved remarkable academic and personal growth, supported by motivated and caring educators who go above and beyond to provide meaningful opportunities for every child.
“The nomination is a testament to the strength of our school community, our clear expectations with families, and our pursuit of improvement and innovation. It is a moment of immense pride and a reminder of the positive difference we make each day – and an inspiration to keep raising the bar,” Rita Boys-Smith said.
In parallel, the nomination for Best Co-Curricular Program recognises the transformative impact of our Cambodia Service Learning Program as an initiative that fosters leadership, empathy, and meaningful action.
Cambodia Service Program Leader, Michele Hockey said the nomination reflects the incredible commitment of our students, staff, families, and community partners who make the program possible.
“Thank you to our entire school community – this nomination reflects what we have achieved together. The depth of engagement in this program reinforces the importance of continuing to offer our students meaningful real-world global learning experiences. We are humbled to see the impact of service learning celebrated in this way,” Michele Hockey said.
